Overview of Fellowship Stipends

A fellowship stipend is money paid to graduate students with no services required in return. For more information on stipends and policy surrounding their use, see the GFS Policy Manual at http://www.stanford.edu/dept/DoR/gfs/

• Postdoctoral scholars and non-matriculated students (for example, Visiting Researchers) receive monthly stipends. The stipend can begin and end on any date within the GFS financial aid year. Use the instructions in this module for entering and modifying monthly stipends. 
• Graduate students have term-based (quarter/semester) stipends. They start and stop on standard dates. See the GFS Term-Based Stipends module for instructions on entering and modifying quarter/semester stipends.
